Indoor Art Sales Opportunities – ‘artsmix* @ The Loft’

We now have our fabulous indoor home ‘The Loft Leeds’. This landmark New York loft style building situated in the heart of the city, close to The Parish Church, offers a range of possibilities. It boasts 10,000 sq ft of individual exhibition/trading space over two floors, with a licensed restaurant/café bar. We are billing this as Leeds’ alternative Sunday Shopping Experience and it will stay true to our core values of selling only original work with the focus on supporting emerging local talent.
The ‘Arts @ The Loft Leeds’ markets offer up to of 50 stalls (of various sizes), selling a wide range of products including, original fine art, sculpture, hand crafted jewellery, crafts, clothing and furniture design, photography and a gallery.

All markets offer a range of strictly original art, crafts and design and now have special additional themes, to broaden their appeal and give something that little bit extra, underlining the fact that every time people visit they get something different.

Our schedule so far is: 

• 05 April
With a special focus on the winners and those shortlisted for the recent Emerging Artists Awards 

• 03 May
Never mind just shopping and eating we also have Spectacular Salsa for you to join in or just watch 

• 07 June
We focus on jewellery, with the Specialist Jewellery Showcase adding to the range of art on sale 

• 05 July
Again live entertainment will compliment your visit with Local Blues Bands performing during the day 

• 02 August
For the first time we'll be going Retro and will also be putting the spotlight on local Design talent 

• 06 September
We'll step back in time mixing contemporary art & design with Records, Books and Antiques 


There'll naturally be plenty more special themes as we head out of summer towards Christmas too.

We will also be hosting a range of evening arts events at the Loft over the year, including our Emerging Artists Awards, a celebration of youth culture and something for those of us that left our youth behind some time ago.

In 2009 ‘artmix* @ The Loft’ markets will be held on the first Sunday of every month (and every Sunday in December leading up to Christmas) – be sure to book your pitch early, there are discounts available for block bookings and for our Premium Members.

Outdoor Arts and Crafts Markets

We continue to offer a wide range of outdoor opportunities for artists and crafts people and will build on our current contacts and experience that this year has seen us at Chancellor’s Court and Pudsey, as well as enhancing other showcase events such as Leeds Pride and The Brewery Wharf Festivals and at Thackray Medical Museum.

We are currently in talks with a variety of people (some of whom are very high profile), which will see a much larger and more varied programme of outdoor (and possibly indoor) market activity in 2009; hopefully including Harewood House and Granary Wharf, when it comes on line later in the year. There is also a strong possibility 2009 will see us embarking on markets outside Leeds and we may even be exporting artsmix* across The Pennines.
