Last outdoors Artsmix* market of the summer! Artsmix* Japanese Market Leeds Sunday 14th Sept
The Artsmix* market comes back to enliven Chancellor Court, just behind the Corn Exchange, on Sunday September 14th with over 40 local artists selling arts & crafts ranging from cards and jewellery to wood work, paintings and textiles art, this time accompanied by artists from further away…
This Sunday’s market will feature two stallholders from Japan, who have settled in Yorkshire after marrying Englishmen. Satoko Bradley will be displaying her beautiful range of handmade Kichi Japanese gifts, and Yumiko Hakamada will give you a taste of Japan beauty through her mesmerising photography. Her friend and favourite model Nobuko Takahashi, fresh from her arrival in the UK last week, will be performing contemporary dance with a traditional theme, in a special kimono and fox mask costume, at 1:30pm & 3:00pm -not to be missed as each dance will be about 15 minutes-. There will also be taster sessions and information on shiatsu massage and reiki healing, as well as samples from a local Japanese restaurant, available all day, to ensure we get a full taste of Japanese culture!
While you are visiting the market between 11 and 4pm, your children can get their face painted, and winners of the arts competition will be able to win small arts-related presents! This market is an ideal time to start spreading your Christmas purchases, and pick up the most unique gifts at very affordable prices.
